Abstract: Blepharocalyx salicifolius (H. B. K) Berg shows a remarkable variability, especially in the shape and size of leaves. Anatomia do Lenho de Heterothalamulopsis wagenitzii (F. Hellw.) Deble, Oliveira & Marchiori (Astereae-Asteraceae)
Abstract:Anatomical studies on the new genus Heterothalamulopsis Deble, Oliveira et Marchiori were just wanting. The wood of Heterothalamulopsis wagenitzii joins three anatomical features that are common in the Asteraceae: small vessels, in dendritic pattern, only simple perforation plates and paratracheal parenchyma. Spiral thickenings, in vessels, as well as scanty-apotracheal, seldom vasicentric parenchyma and heterogeneous rays, with procumbent, square and upright cells, were also observed. Photomicrographs and quantitative data of anatomical features are also furnished. Key words: Heterothalamulopsis, Asteraceae, Baccharinae, Wood anatomy.
