Butia lallemantii, uma nova Arecaceae do Brasil.

Abstract: A new species is described and illustrated: Butia lallemantii Deble & Marchiori, native on sandy grasslands from south-western of Rio Grande do Sul, State, Brazil. Butia lallemantii is allied to B. paraguayensis (Barb. Rodr.) L. H. Bailey, differing by its underground stalk and cespitose habit. The last character also serves to set it apart from other two related paraguayan species: B. arenicola (Barb. Rodr. ) Burret and B. Campicola (Barb. Rodr.) Noblick. Key words: Butia, new species, Arecaceae, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Sinopse de Pseudognaphalium Kirp. (Asteraceae-Gnaphalieae) no Brasil.

Abstract: Basically neotropical, the genus Pseudognaphalium is distinguished from Gnaphalium L. by most of the modern authors and includes 95 species of annual, biannual or perennial herbs. Only five species are native in Brazil: P. cheiranthifolium (Lam.) Hilliard & Burtt, P. gaudichaudianum (DC.) A. Anderb., P. leucopeplum (Cabrera) A. Anderb., P. luteo-album (L.) Hilliard & Burtt and P. mendocinum (Phil.) Deble & Marchiori. This paper proposes three new synonymities to P. cheiranthifolium (Gnaphalium erectum Vellozo, Gnaphalium riedelianum F. W. Klatt, Gnaphalium cheiranthifolium Lam. var. riedelianum (F. W. Klatt) Baker), and two synonymities to Psudognaphalium gaudichaudianum (Gnaphalium regnelli Sch.-Bip., Pseudognaphalium austrobrasilicum Deble & Marchiori. Gnaphalium mendoncinum Phil. is rehabilitated from of the synonymity of P. gaudichaudianum, being proposed a new combination: Pseudognaphalium mendocinum (Phil.) Deble & Marchiori. A lectotype to Gnaphalium erectum Vell. is presently designated. A dichotomous key, the synonymity and the geographic distributions to all taxa are also furnisched. Key words: Pseudognaphalium, Asteraceae, Gnaphalieae, Brazil.

Checklist do gênero Baccharis L. para o Brasil (Asteraceae-Astereae).

Abstract: The paper presents a checklist to the 146 species of the genus Baccharis, native in Brazil. Aster pohlii Baker is changed to Baccharis, and a new combination is proposed: Baccharis pohlii (Baker) Deble & An. S. de Oliveira. A new name is created – Baccharis hyemalis Deble – to replace >Heterothalamus rupestris Deble, An. S. de Oliveira & Marchiori (non B. rupestris Heering). Twenty one new synonymities are proposed, being seven to B. rufidula Sch.-Bip. ex Baker ( B. brachylaenoides var. rufidula (Sch.-Bip. ex Baker) An. S. de Oliveira & Deble, B. polycephala Sch.-Bip., B. pseudopolycephala Malag., B. brachylaenoides var. polycephala (Sch.-Bip.) G. M. Barroso, B. brachylaenoides var. polycephala (Malag.) Govaerts, B. brachylaenoides var. polycephala Govaerts, Pseudobaccharis polycephala (Sch.-Bip.) Malag.), four to Baccharis cognata DC.(B. polycephala Weddel, B. linearifolia subsp. polycephala (Weddel) J. Müller, B. pedalis Sch.-Bip. ex Griseb., B. pflanzii Perkins), three to B. parvidentata Malag. (B. dusenii G. M. Barroso, B. grazielae An. S. de Oliveira & Deble, B. perdusenii Giuliano), two to B. sessiliflora Vahl (B. chilco Kunth, B. linearifolia subsp. chilco (Kunth) J. Müller), two to B. vernonioides (Vernonia rufidula Spreng., Baccharis rufidula (Spreng.)J. Müller, non B. rufidula Sch.-Bip. ex Baker), one to B. crispa Spreng. (B. genistelloides subsp. crispa(Spreng.) J. Müller), one to B. pohlii (Baker) Deble & An. S. de Oliveira,Baccharidiopsis pohlii (Baker) G. M. Barroso), and one to B. singularis (Vell.) G. M. Barroso B.cassiniaefolia DC.). Seventeen species are rehabilited: Baccharis arctostaphyloides Baker, B. brevifolia DC., B. camporum DC., B. crispa Spreng., B. cylindrica Less., B. deltoidea Baker, B. humilis Sch.-Bip. ex Baker, B. leptocephala DC., B. myriocephala DC., B. paulopolitana Malag. & Hoehne, B. rhexioides (Kunth) Baker, B. rufidula Sch.-Bip. ex Baker, B. subdentata DC., B. subopposita DC., B. trimera (Less.)
