Research interests

  • The chalcogen chemistry, especially selenium and tellurium, exploiting the versatility of the derivatives of these elements. Materials containing these elements may have interesting optical properties, and even be used as precursors for semiconductors.
  • The chemistry of indium, through the systematic study of inorganic and organometallic compounds of indium to develop new organometallic reagents of indium useful to promote reactions of formation of carbon-carbon linkages, and improve the effectiveness and chemo-, regio- and stereoselectivity of some organic reactions;
  • The bioinorganic chemistry of uranium and thorium, that aims at the construction of biomimetic models;
  • The preparation of medicines containing metal ions - metal sulfonamides;
  • The study of coordination polymers - formed by the strong interaction between metal ions and anions;
  • The chemistry of organometallic compounds with biologically active ligands containing nitrogen, sulfur or phosphorous.
