Prof. Dr. Gelson Manzoni de Oliveira

The research group of prof. Gelson studies reactions of metallation of ligands with biological activity and their properties. Reactions of synthesis of tectons derived from halogenated organylchalcogenides and the arrangements due to the secondary bonding between the tectonic species are also objects of study.

In addition, prof. de Oliveira invesigates reactions of replacement of carbonyl ligands of Cr and Mn by sulfur, nitrogen or phosphorous ligands, and also the determination of the biological activities of the products. Structural analysis by X-ray diffraction in single crystal, infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance are the main tools of charcterisation of the compounds.
