Rafael Pavão das Chagas![]() Born in Ibirubá, city located in northern of Rio Grande do Sul. Member of the group since February 2002, when started his scientific initiation, studying applications of indium(I) salts as promoters of reactions of formation of carbon-carbon links in organic synthesis, under the supervision of prof. Peppe. Has degree in Industrial Chemistry, Federal University of Santa Maria (2004) and Masters in Chemistry at the Federal University of Santa Maria (2007). He took his Masters degree during 2005 to 2007, exploring and developing synthetic methodologies involving the use of indium(I) bromide, which resulted in a detailed work on the mechanistic aspects of the reaction and stereochemistry of the addition of a indium enolate to carbonyl compounds. In March 2007, initiated the doctorate, studying the use of indium(I) bromide in diastereoselective reactions of cyclopropanes and reactions of organometallic compounds of the type X2InCH2X with bidentate Lewis bases to the achievement of complex coordination with super and supramolecular arrangements. His main area of interest is the chemistry of organometallic compounds. |
